Pak Pak Kitchen is an instant noodle vending machine that provides a convenient hot cup or bowl of noodles in a variety of flavors anywhere, anytime. The menu selection includes noodles/ramen from various countries and regions, including choices from vegetarian, seafood, meat/halal, as well as spicy and non-spicy options, all from a state-of-the-art vending machine. One Pak Pak Kitchen unit is operating at the Casino Rama in Orillia, north of Toronto. A second unit is scheduled to open in Oshawa late this year and Nick Iozzi and Tony Manni at The Ancillary Agency have been retained to secure additional locations. At this time, the plan calls for placing about five units in the area from Kitchener/Waterloo on the west, Oshawa on the east and Barria/Orillia to the north, with a focus on Toronto and the inner GTA. The focus is on shopping centres and mixed-use projects, particularly those with post-secondary student traffic, hotels, transit stations, etc. In addition, 24-hour businesses that want automated hot food for staff are targeted. The 80-inch-high machine, with an integrated water supply, requires a 62-inch by 32-inch area and the machine is equipped with a ‘smart’ vending software which allows complete remote monitoring of inventory, transactions, product management, and machine health, etc.
