This week, Mandy’s Gourmet Salad enters the Western Canada market with its first location in British Columbia. The chain of quick service specialty salad opens an 800 square foot unit with patio at 2202 West 4th Ave. in Vancouver’s Kitsilano neighbourhood. Then in 2027, a larger 1800 square foot flagship Mandy’s with seating opens at 1067 West Cordova St, near Canada Place, in the Coal Harbour area and another Vancouver location is under discussion. Introduced as a create-your-own salad bar in downtown Montreal in 2004 by sisters Mandy and Rebecca Wolfe, with these Vancouver additions, the chain will have 17 quick service locations in the Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver markets. The restaurants feature gourmet signature salads and DIY salads made with a wide selection of fresh, premium ingredients, proteins, toppings and dressings. In addition, there are also fresh-made bowls and smoothies. The chain has previously reports interest in several key markets in the U.S. Madeleine Byblow at Jones Lang LaSalle Real Estate is handling the real estate search in British Columbia and Alberta. Mandy’s targets prominent street-front locations, corners preferred, with patio opportunities in the 1,600 to 2,500 square foot size range.
