Global brand and entertainment platform Authentic Brands Group has acquired a majority stake in the intellectual property of October’s Very Own/OVO, the Canadian premium lifestyle brand co-founded by Canadian rapper and singer Drake. Drake will retain a significant ownership stake and continue to guide OVO’s creative direction, ensuring the brand maintains its distinctive identity and cultural influence. The partnership is intended to accelerate OVO’s global growth through Authentic’s expertise in content, entertainment, experiences, licensing and international commerce. Authentic sees OVO as a strong addition to its portfolio of fashion, sports, entertainment and lifestyle brands and plans to expand the brand into new markets and business opportunities while preserving its core identity. As part of the transaction, Vince Holding Corp. has acquired OVO’s operating business and will manage key areas including design, product development, merchandising and retail operations. Vince will serve as OVO’s core apparel partner, supporting its creative vision while helping bring its products to a broader global audience. Founded by Aubrey ‘Drake’ Graham, Oliver El-Khatib and Noah ‘40’ Shebib, OVO has evolved into a globally recognized lifestyle brand known for its premium apparel, accessories, owl logo and black-and-gold aesthetic.
