Earlier in the Summer, The Bagel House opened a 2131 square foot location at the Promenade Centre in Thornhill. With exterior access only, the unit is at the mall’s entrance two fronting onto Promenade Circle. After relocating to Toronto in 1999, business partners Sat Chouhan and Jessie Sahdra used their experience gained in the Montreal bagel business to launch The Bagel House featuring the authentic Montreal-style bagels in Toronto. With this latest addition, the specialty chain operates six locations in the GTA featuring the hand-crafted fresh baked bagels along with a menu of various breakfast and deli-style bagel sandwiches. Continued growth in the GTA is anticipated and street front locations in the 700 to 1200 square foot range and with at least 15-feet of frontage are targeted. Enclosed mall and food court locations in the 400 to 500 square foot range are also considered for the express format locations. With the fresh bagels supplied from existing on-site baking locations, venting is not a requirement for these express units.
