Earlier in July, Vancouver-based lifestyle concept, The Latest Scoop entered Ontario’s Ottawa market with a 3187 square foot location on the first level of Bayshore Shopping Centre in the Nepean area. Introduced in 2004 in Vancouver, The Latest Scoop features a curated selection of ladies’ on-trend fashion and accessories from around the world, along with home décor, furniture pieces, giftware, stationery, etc. with new merchandise arriving in the stores on a weekly basis. Presently the chain operates five stores in the Vancouver Mainland region and one in Victoria on Vancouver Island, six in Ontario including a pop-up location on Queen St West in Toronto and two in Alberta’s Calgary market. The Latest Scoop generally operates in 1500 to 2200 square foot range and targets high profile street front locations in markets with a mix of boutiques, cafes, restaurants/bars, etc. that provide a strong synergy. And the stores will also locate in the larger fashion malls in upscale neighbourhoods. CEO Adrien Nichol previously explained that many of the permanent locations started as pop-ups to test and evaluate markets. He noted that the chain was exploring both urban and suburban market across the country.
