Food World Plus is set to become a major multicultural retail destination in Mississauga with the upcoming opening of its 176,339 square foot store at 50 Matheson Blvd. East. Located in the former Highland Farms 13.9-acre site at Hurontario and Matheson, the Canadian-owned supermarket aims to deliver a first-of-its-kind shopping experience that reflects the diversity of the Greater Toronto Area. Operated by JDass Corp., the store will feature groceries and specialty products representing cultures from around the world, including Caribbean, Eastern European, Middle Eastern, South Asian, and East Asian communities. Food World Plus will include Halal and Kosher butcher counters, an expansive organic produce department, and one of GTA’s largest seafood, meat, and deli sections. Beyond groceries, the destination will offer fresh juice and sushi bars, a dessert parlour with allergy-friendly treats, a global cuisine food hall, café, flower boutique, wholesale wing, and professional catering services. The site will also feature an end-to-end patio, 1,100 parking spaces, and convenient access to the future Hazel McCallion LRT line. In addition to enhancing local food retail options, Food World Plus is expected to create significant employment opportunities in the community.
