Since the launch of its first bricks & mortar scoop shop on 17th Ave SW in Calgary in 2016, Made by Marcus has grown from a small ice cream maker into one of Western Canada’s most recognized premium ice cream brands. Founded by food specialist Marcus Purtzki, the company has become known in Canada’s artisanal ice cream sector for its small-batch ice cream crafted from scratch using dairy from grass-fed cows and high-quality ingredients sourced from local farmers, roasters, distillers, and artisans. Made by Marcus has expanded to multiple locations across Calgary and Edmonton and beyond scoop shops, the company offers pints, ice cream cakes, catering services, workshops, and home delivery. Presently there are five permanent and seasonal Made by Marcus locations in the Calgary area and three in Edmonton. Later in the Summer, Made by Marcus opens its ninth location, a unit across from the Calgary Farmers’ Market at the Greenwich Village in Northwest Calgary.
