Later in the week, Edmonton-based H&W Produce is opening its seventh location in the Centre in the Park on Festival Way and Sherwood Dr. in Sherwood Park in Alberta. Operating as The Market at H&W Produce, the 10,800 square foot unit is opening in the former Planet Organic location. H&W Produce is a community-driven low price fresh fruits and vegetables that was introduced in mid-1999 on 34th Ave NW in Edmonton’s Millwood community. Launched by Richard Harrison, Gwen Harrison and Bedford Williams, the stores feature local, regional and imported produce at affordable pricing along with a large selection of grocery items, dairy, etc. With the exception of one location that opened in the Horizon Heights plaza in northeast Calgary a few years ago, all of the stores are in the Edmonton region.
