Earlier this year, the Halibut House chain of family-style casual seafood restaurants opened a 2020 square foot location at the Woodstock Crossing on Norwich Ave. in Woodstock in southwestern Ontario. And the franchise chain is now preparing to enter the Sudbury market shortly with a location in the new plaza at 2135 Long Lake Rd and MacIsaac Dr. Introduced in Port Perry in southcentral Ontario in 2004 and now based in Toronto, Halibut House is a chain of over 40 restaurants in Ontario with a menu that features only quality ingredients using local Ontario potatoes for its fresh cut fries and only wild and sustainably caught, chemical free fish that is then lightly battered. Along with franchise operators, the chain continues to source sites in various markets in Ontario, focusing on 2000 to 3000 square foot end cap locations in grocery-anchored plazas and centres. Patios are welcomed and inline units are considered.
