Lee’s Donuts has confirmed that it will be opening its first location on Vancouver Island. The unit will open later in the year at 658 View St in the revitalized Broadview Block in downtown Victoria’s prime retail area. In addition to its signature honey dip and classic yeast and cake doughnuts made fresh daily, the location will feature the chain’s new coffee and espresso menu. Introduced as a tenant at the Granville Island Public Market in 1979, Lee’s Donuts is a popular specialty donut shop that features handmade, premium quality classic donuts, yeast donuts and cake donuts, with various toppings and rotating flavours. And there is also a large selection of popular Lee’s merchandise including t-shirts, hoodies, caps, etc. A franchise concept, Lee’s Donuts offer both the grab-and-go format and a café-style concept ranging from about 700 to 1100 square feet. Earlier in the year, CEO Allan Bacani suggested significant growth for the chain with the addition of Cameron Jarvis as President. Presently Lee’s Donuts has eleven locations in B.C. Lower Mainland with a unit at the Guildford Town Centre in Surrey opening shortly.
