Later this week, Mexican-inspired quick-service restaurant, Quesada Burritos & Tacos opens its 200th restaurant at 515 Lakeshore Rd East in Mississauga’s Port Credit neighbourhood. The milestone reflects the brand’s strong double-digit growth over the past few years as a leading Mexican fast-casual chain in Canada, offering classic authentic menu items like tacos, quesadillas, burritos, and more. Since its introduction in Toronto. Quesada has rapidly expanded across Canada with each location providing authentic-tasting Mexican food along with new, innovative, and signature menu items that go beyond a typical Mexican fast-food chain menu. Quesada Burritos & Tacos was launched in 2004 by Steve Gill who grew the company into a chain of 175 locations when it joined the Foodtastic group of companies in late 2022. Coast-to-coast expansion continues with Senior Leasing Manager Jack Piccini handling the chain’s real estate search and adds that there are about ten more units in various stages of development that can possibly open before the end of the year. The chain is actively seeking new opportunities throughout Canada to keep pace with the franchisee interest and about 30 or more locations in various markets are planned for 2024. On average the restaurants range from 1000 to 1500 square feet though the chain will adapt its footprint given the right opportunity in urban, suburban, and small-town locations.
