In early October, global bakery café franchise Paris Baguette will take possession of a freestanding 5717 square foot unit at Niagara Square in Niagara Falls in Ontario’s Niagara Peninsula. The unit is expected to open in February 2027. Introduced in Korea in 1988, Paris Baguette presently operates over 4000 locations in about 15 countries in Asia, Europe and North America featuring its unique selection of freshly baked pastries, cakes, made-on-site breads and a café-menu of sandwiches, salads, etc. along with fresh-brewed coffees. In Canada since early 2023, the chain presently has a dozen locations in Ontario and Alberta. Several more are in the works, including its first in Atlantic Canada is opening later in the fourth quarter at The Village Shops at Dartmouth Crossing in Dartmouth in Nova Scotia. Geoffrey Smith and Mike Sabetti at CBRE Ltd. are responsible for the chain’s site selection in Canada. Both urban and suburban locations, and highly visible end cap and standalone units in the 2500 to 3500 square foot range are required.
After this agreement at Niagara Square, only one unit remains available in the 270,000 square foot open centre at Montrose Rd and McLeod Rd. Co-tenants include Cineplex along with The Brick, JYSK, Winners, Michael’s, Giant Tiger and shadow-anchored by Costco. Available immediately, the 8993 square foot inline unit is adjacent to a Sephora. Located in the QEW/McLeod retail shopping node, over 72,000 people are living within a ten-minute drive of the centre. The median age is about 44-years. Niagara Square is owned by Cogir Real Estate and Chris McLaughlin at Bayfield Property Management, a division of Cogir, is handling the leasing.
