Overwhelming Opening………..

In early October, the third Pizza Toni New York-style pizza slice shop opened in a plaza at 3800 Boul des Sources near De Salaberry in Montreal’s West Island. Following an overwhelming turnout, the 2200 square foot location was temporarily closed while the shop reorganized to adapt to the strong demand. Launched by Montreal-restauranteurs Yoni Amir and Daniel Maislin in mid-2020 in Montreal’s Mile End neighbourhood, Pizza Toni features the New York-style pizzas and ‘Grandma’ style square pies in five classic choices, cheese, marinara, margherita and pepperoni along with the square pie, available by the slice or by the pie. A second location open in Montreal’s St Henri area in late 2024 and with the recent opening, the quick casual concept has expanded its menu selection, providing more options, offering a larger selection of new unique toppings, from organic mushrooms to vegan cheese, to personalize the pies. Expansion is largely opportunity-driven, and Pizza Toni is currently in discussions for a site in Laval for early 2027. The chain is also exploring Montreal’s South Shore area and potentially another location in Montreal. Dave Azran at Urban Rebel Consulting is handling the site selection for the chain targeting triple A sites in the 2000 to 2500 square foot range with venting.
