HomeSense is a leading off-price home décor and furnishings chain featuring a constantly changing assortment of brand-name furniture, housewares, bedding, kitchenware, lighting, and decorative accessories. Launched in Ontario 25 years ago by TJX Companies Inc., the chain now numbers over 160 stores across the country and TJX continues to explore all markets in Canada as part of its expansion plans. In mid-August, HomeSense will open a 25,800 square foot location in Milton Mall at 55 Ontario St South and Main St East in Milton, west of Toronto in the GTA. TJX Canada’s Senior Vice President, Property Development Dean Michaels adds that two more HomeSense stores are scheduled to open in Alberta and Quebec in the Fall and several more are committed for 2027 openings. HomeSense is targeting units in the 24,000 to 30,000 square foot range with minimum 16-foot ceilings and 100 feet of frontage. Brodie Henrichsen at Jones Lang LaSalle Real Estate Services is handling the chain’s site selection from Manitoba to British Columbia and Sam Winberg and Justin Pearlstein at Aurora Retail Group are responsible for the search in the Ontario to Newfoundland region.
