Osmow’s Shawarma is chain of quick service Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurants that was introduced by Sam Osmow when he acquired and rebranded a sub shop in Mississauga in 2001. In 2011, the company introduced a franchise program and presently there are over 230 locations in Canada and the U.S. The Osmow’s Shawarama restaurants features a classic Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern menu designed to meet the tastes of its growing, culturally diverse clientele. Its shawarmas, pita wraps, falafel, etc. as well as its signature creations, are made to order with premium quality, fresh ingredients. In mid-2023, Osmow’s entered the Quebec market with a location on St Catherine St West in downtown Montreal and now counts about five locations in the Greater Montreal Area and plans call for more. The chain has retained Renee Spenard at Paracom Immobilier (Quebec) to handle the search in the province, initially targeting the Greater Montreal and Greater Quebec City markets. The restaurants operate in highly visible end cap and pad locations, generally in strong anchored plazas that include grocery, liquor, dollar stores, large gyms, etc. Highly visible downtown street front locations are also targeted. The units will operate in the 1200 to 1500 square foot range.
