Projet Senator is a new retail development project that, once completed, will consist of about 150,000 square feet in the heart of Sentor district in Rouyn-Noranda, in Quebec’s Abitibi-Temiscamingue region. An IGA Extra along with Rachelle-Bery, RONA and Shell gas bar are now open at the site and construction on the second phase is expected to start in Summer 2024, adding about 40,000 square feet of leasable area in about four buildings. Spaces available will range from 2,000 to 25,000 square feet. Targeted uses include restaurants, services, home furnishings and sporting goods. Natacha Menard, Senior Director of Retail Leasing & Investments at North American Development Group is handling the leasing. Located at Chemin Senator and Boul Rideau, along with the adjacent Walmart and Canadian Tire, Projet Senator is an integral component in what is sure to become a major shopping and entertainment hub in the area. Rouyn-Noranda is a prosperous mining community with a population of more than 43,000 including 9,200 students from elementary to university level. Senator district has been identified by the municipality for the construction of additional new housing given its proximity to essential services and the transportation network.
