Earlier this week, Arc’teryx opened its new Montréal Alpha Store at 1133 St. Catherine St. West at Stanley St, replacing its longstanding St Catherine St location with a larger, 9600 square foot, three-level space. The opening marks the company’s largest investment in its Montréal retail presence and builds on the city’s importance in Arc’teryx’s history as the location of its first Canadian retail store. The new Alpha Store is designed as a hub for Montréal’s outdoor community, offering a dedicated space where locals can gather, relax and host activities such as run clubs and climbing groups. A major feature is the expanded ReBIRD Service Centre, which supports Arc’teryx’s focus on circularity through repair, resale and upcycling. The centre includes a dedicated repair area providing full repair services, as well as a ReBIRD RESALE section offering refurbished products. The expanded store also provides more opportunities to explore Arc’teryx’s product range, with multiple fitting rooms and displays highlighting the brand’s iconic jackets. Its interior draws inspiration from mountain environments through natural materials, warm woods, stone, sculptural elements, layered lighting and West Coast plants. The design also celebrates Montréal’s identity and Arc’teryx’s local heritage. Features such as a vintage Montréal map, artwork made from salvaged climbing holds, and an interactive 3D map of local mountains and trails connect the store to the city and its outdoor culture. Overall, the Alpha Store combines retail, product care, community and Montréal heritage to create a new home base for Arc’teryx customers. Introduced in North Vancouver in 1989, Arc’teryx is a Canadian outdoor brand renowned for high-performance clothing, footwear, and equipment. The company operates over 160 branded stores worldwide with over 30 in Canada, offering innovative products designed for climbing, hiking, skiing, and other demanding activities.
