Tracer Golf is a unique family-owned golf concept that is redefining how players practice and experience the game through technology-driven, fully automated facilities. Introduced in 2019 with its first location in North York, Tracer Golf combines traditional driving range functionality with advanced simulator technology to create a modern, data-rich training environment. At the core of Tracer Golf’s offering are private indoor hitting bays equipped with launch monitors that provide real-time shot tracing and detailed ball-flight analytics. These features allow golfers of all skill levels to better understand their performance and improve more efficiently. In addition to range practice, users can access high-definition virtual golf courses from around the world, blending entertainment with skill development. A defining aspect of the Tracer Golf model is its fully automated, app-based system. Customers book sessions online, gain entry via a smartphone-enabled ‘smart door key,’ and access bays that activate automatically at their reserved time. With no on-site staff required, the company reduces operating costs while offering convenience and 24/7 availability. Co-founder Tosan Lee notes that the chain is continuously expanding, having just opened an eleven-bay location on Queen St East at Hammersmith Ave. in Toronto’s Beaches area, bringing the chain to nine units across the GTA. “Our current focus is the Greater Toronto Area and also Southwestern Ontario,” he added. Tracer Golf emphasizes accessibility and flexibility, offering multiple bay types—from standard to premium and TrackMan-powered pro setups—designed to suit a range of budgets and performance needs. Facilities are designed for individual practice or small groups, typically accommodating up to four players per bay. Depending on market, availability and the number of bays, the facilities will range from 3500 to 6000 square feet and 12,000 to 15,000 square feet.
