Specialty food concept Auntie Anne’s is seeking a strategic partner to head up its expansion across Canada. Part of the Atlanta-based GoTo Foods group, Auntie Anne’s operates over 1300 locations worldwide, featuring a selection of hand-rolled soft pretzels that are formed and baked on-site, in front of the customer. Jorge Lizan at Lizan Retail Advisors has been retained to handle the search and, along with GoTo Foods Senior Business Director LATAM Andres Munoz, will be in Toronto in mid-August to meet with potential operators and investors, multi-unit franchise operators, foodservice and restaurant groups, etc. Built on a simple, highly scalable operating model, Auntie Anne’s combines strong consumer appeal, operational efficiency, and proven unit-level performance. The units will locate in both in-line and kiosk sites in high traffic areas. Kiosks will operate in about 300 square feet and in-line units are up to about 800 square feet in shopping centres, airports ad transit hubs, entertainment and travel centres, street and mixed-use developments.
