Jollibee is significantly expanding its presence in Canada through a franchise-led growth strategy. In July 2026, its North American franchisor, JBM LLC, signed a multi-unit development agreement with an experienced food retail operator to open 16 Jollibee restaurants in British Columbia over the next five years. This marks Jollibee’s official franchise entry into the province, where it currently operates four company-owned locations.
The agreement follows a 10-store development deal in Edmonton signed in June 2026. Together, the two agreements create a 26-store committed franchise pipeline across Canada. Combined with Jollibee’s existing 28 company-operated restaurants, the company’s Canadian network is expected to reach 54 locations within five years, nearly doubling its current footprint. The expansion reflects Jollibee Group’s shift toward a more balanced mix of company-owned and franchised restaurants, allowing faster growth while maintaining disciplined capital investment. The company also continues discussions with potential franchise partners across Canada, creating opportunities for expansion beyond the 26 committed locations. Jollibee views Canada as a key long-term growth market, supported by strong consumer demand and growing franchise interest. Jollibee is the flagship brand of Jollibee Group, the world’s largest Asian restaurant company. With over 10,400 locations worldwide, 100 restaurants in North America, the company has previously stated plans for 500 restaurants in North America by 2030. In addition to food court and opportunities in transit hubs, universities, etc., Jollibee targets freestanding and end cap locations, generally in a 2800 to 3500 square foot range. A drive-thru option is preferred.
