Continuing with its store upgrades and rebranding program, on May 22nd, the Red Apple Stores chain of small-town general merchandise retail stores will host the opening of a Red Apple store on West Third street in Prince Rupert in British Columbia’s north coast, rebranded from The Bargain! Shop and in Gimli, a community about 80 kilometres north of Winnipeg in Manitoba, it opens a refreshed Red Apple store on Centre St with a brighter, more modern layout designed to make browsing easier and shopping more enjoyable. “Both stores will carry the full breadth of what Red Apple does best – quality merchandise across fashion, home, grocery, and seasonal categories at prices families can feel good about,” said Senior Vice President, Merchandising Barry Fisler. “We’ve put together a great assortment for both communities, and we can’t wait for customers to explore it.” The Prince Rupert and Gimli Red Apple stores are the seventh and eighth conversions/upgrades so far this year. During 2025, over 20 locations were converted or upgraded. Red Apple Stores is a Canadian chain of more than 140 general merchandise stores. For over 20 years, the company has delivered big brands, quality products, and strong value on food, fashion, and home goods, complemented by convenient locations and friendly, community-focused customer service to small markets across the country.
