Supermarket Signs On……….

Supermarket Signs On……….Grosvenor is continuing its transformation of Brentwood into a vibrant, transit-oriented community with the announcement of a new 36,000 square foot Sobey’s-owned Thrifty Foods store at Brentwood Block. Scheduled to open in 2029, the grocery store represents another milestone in the long-standing partnership between the two companies and will serve both residents and the surrounding neighbourhood. Located on an eight-acre master-planned site along Lougheed Hwy in Burnaby, Brentwood Block has been designed as a pedestrian-friendly community that integrates housing, retail, cultural amenities and public green spaces. The addition of Thrifty Foods is expected to strengthen the neighbourhood’s appeal by providing convenient access to everyday essentials while increasing foot traffic and supporting nearby businesses. Marc Josephson, Senior Vice President of Development at Grosvenor, said the grocery store will play a key role in creating a complete, walkable and highly livable community. The project further reinforces Grosvenor’s long-term vision of building a connected, ultra-convenient urban hub centered around transit accessibility and neighbourhood vibrancy.
