Big League Food Company, the Toronto-based food platform is planning a significant expansion across its portfolio that will include adding six Dear Grain locations in 2026. Dear Grain is a specialty bakery that features a range of fresh-made sourdough breads and pastries. Introduced in a café in 2018, the first standalone Dear Grain bakery opened on Lower Ossington in Toronto in late 2021 and in mid-2022, a bakery and commissary was opened in Hamilton, a block from Jackson Square. After another successful opening on Roncesvalles Ave in Toronto in Spring 2025, Dear Grain has now set plans to expand further across Toronto with new locations in Toronto’s Summerhill area in mid-2026, an additional downtown Toronto site in the fourth quarter, as well as a second Hamilton location. Max Daviau, Big League Food’s Co-Founder explains that the plan going forward calls for two or three locations per year, targeting high density neighbourhood locations. Highly visible units in the 1500 to 1800 square foot range with patios and convenient access are preferred. He mentioned various target areas including Lawrence Ave, Eglinton Ave West, Burlington, Vaughan, Oakville as well as a Toronto East location. Chris Wanzel at Urban Reform Realty has been retained to handle site selection.
