Saif Essanussi, Director of Leasing for the Tahini’s Mediterranean Fusion chain of quick service restaurants, is actively seeking new locations in British Columbia’s Lower Mainland, Saskatchewan, and Halifax in Nova Scotia. Introduced in 2012, the chain of over 80 restaurants specializes in a wide selection of fusion Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes made from scratch using fresh, organic and natural ingredients. The franchise chain is seeking sites in the 1400 to 1800 square foot range, with a strong daytime population from offices, schools, hospitals, and grocery-anchored plazas. “Key criteria include high visibility, easy access, good parking, and strong co-tenancy alongside brands like Starbucks, Chipotle, Chick-fil-A, or other national QSRs,” he noted. Both endcap or inline units are considered, and Tahini’s is open to either a second-generation restaurant space or new construction. Essanussi and Chief Development Officer Shawn Saraga of Revel Realty are handling the chain’s growth. Tahini’s restaurants currently operate in Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia and its first U.S location opening in Illinois in September 2025. U.S. plans call for future growth in the Chicago area and New Jersey.
