Last week, ladies’ intimates specialist Knix opened a 2233 square foot corner location on level one at the Halifax Shopping Centre in Halifax in Nova Scotia. It is the chain’s first location in Atlantic Canada. Founded in Toronto in 2013 by Joanna Griffiths, the Canadian intimates and apparel brand pioneered leakproof underwear and has since expanded its product line to include bras, swimwear, activewear, shapewear, sleepwear and maternity products. Knix has developed a growing brick-and-mortar network across the country, with over 20 stores in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia and Manitoba, and a permanent location in New York City that opened a year ago. Knix is accelerating is expansion program, and Kate Camenzuli at CBRE Ltd is handling the site selection in Canada and is assisting with the U.S. search. Stores in Ontario at the Shops at Don Mills in Toronto, Lime Ridge Mall in Hamilton and Mapleview Mall in Burlington are expected to open later this year.
