Last weekend, Montreal-based KaleMart24 opened its first store in Toronto. The 1800 square foot convenience concept at 601 Yonge St at Gloucester St in the Church-Wellesley neighbourhood is offering everyday essentials along with fresh grab-and-go meals, açaí bowls, smoothies, protein shakes, organic ceremonial-grade matcha, specialty coffee, better-for-you snacks, etc., all available 24/7. Introduced in March 2024, KaleMart24 has opened seven locations in the Montreal area and one each in Ottawa, Kitchener and now Toronto. Designed to cater to a new generation of on-the-go shoppers, KaleMart24 leverages technology with a strong loyalty program, along with self-checkout, contactless and mobile payments options that encourage shoppers to shop easily and buy often 24/7. Tony Flanz at Think Retail is handling the site selection for the KaleMart24 concept targeting high-traffic street-front locations, open-air plaza and office towers. The ideal spaces are 850 to 1500 square foot range. Four more KaleMart24 locations in the Greater Montreal Area are in various stages of development and expected to open before the end of the year.
