Originating in New Zealand in 2005, Clip ’n Climb is an innovative indoor active-entertainment concept that combines the excitement of climbing with the colourful, immersive experience of a theme park. Clip ’n Climb has grown into a global brand with over 380 centres worldwide, welcoming millions of visitors. The indoor climbing concept entered the North American market in 2014 with its first location at the Centropolis in Laval in Quebec and with the latest location, a 4000 square foot unit in Grande Prairie in Alberta that opened in late 2025, there are eleven locations in Canada. There are also over 35 Clip N’ Climb locations in the U.S. Often described as ‘theme park meets climbing wall’, the concept offers a collection of unique, visually striking climbing challenges designed to engage people of different ages, abilities and experience levels. Each challenge presents a different combination of climbing techniques, textures, obstacles and levels of difficulty, encouraging participants to test their agility, strength, and problem-solving skills. The chain is currently seeking additional sites and is presently targeting the east Edmonton and Sherwood Park area in Alberta. The indoor climbing wall concept requires units in the 4500 to 6500 square foot range that have a minimum of 21-foot ceiling heights. Brandon Rosser at Cushman & Wakefield Edmonton has been retained to handle the search.
