In October, international eyewear retailer Bailey Nelson reopens renovated stores in Scarborough Town Centre in Scarborough and Sherway Gardens in Etobicoke. And later in the Fall, the chain opens a street front location at 1128 Yonge St in Toronto’s Summerhill area and a location at Mayfair Shopping Centre in Victoria in British Columbia. These openings bring the chain to almost 50 locations from Ontario to B.C. and the company continues to source locations across the country. Introduced in Australia in 2012, Bailey Nelson is a chain of handcrafted quality eyewear stores. Initially through a licensee agreement, the brand entered the Canadian market in 2014 and in mid-2017, the chain launched its North American corporate expansion with a location on Robson St in Vancouver followed by aggressive expansion. Jeffrey Berkowitz at Aurora Realty Consultants Inc. is handling the site selection, generally targeting the larger enclosed malls as well as busy street front locations and select high traffic open centres. The size is generally in an 800 to 1200 square foot range with at least 18-feet of frontage.
