In late July, Louisville, Kentucky-based Biscuit Belly acquired 34 locations from Maple Street Biscuit Company, a subsidiary of Cracker Barrel, in a move that will accelerate its expansion across the U.S. Southeast. The gourmet biscuit sandwich chain plans to convert the restaurants to the Biscuit Belly brand over the next 18 to 24 months, beginning in the Cincinnati and Richmond, Virginia markets. Founded in 2019, Biscuit Belly currently operates 15 locations and expects to exceed 60 units by the end of 2028.
