Last week, Modern Beauty Supplies opened a 3500 square foot location in the Gardiner Town Centre in Kingston in southeastern Ontario and construction will start in mid-August on a 2850 square foot location in a plaza at Victoria St North and Bruce St in Kitchener in southwestern Ontario. Introduced in 1986 by Mike and Fay Jomaa, the Calgary-based company serves the country’s beauty professionals, providing a full range of high-quality spa and salon supplies, equipment and furniture. Presently there are about 60 locations from British Columbia to Ontario with plans to add about 50 more by 2030. Janis MacDougall and Kelly Farraj at The Behar Group Realty are sourcing locations in Ontario targeting visible and conveniently located units in the 2500 to 4500 square foot range. An active search is underway in the Markham, Guelph, Milton. Bradford, Peterborough and Ottawa East markets. The chain is also scheduled to open later this year in a 4934 square foot unit at the Cranbrook Shopping Centre in Cranbrook in southeast British Columbia and in a 3550 square foot location at the Grant Park Festival on Taylor Ave in South Winnipeg.
