Last week, SIR Royalty Income Fund reported its financial results for the second quarter that ended in late June 2026. Pooled Revenue totaled $77.5 million(Cdn), an increase of 6.2 percent compared to $72.9 million(Cdn) for the three months ended June 30, 2025. “The Fund generated solid performance for the quarter, highlighted by Pooled Revenue growth of 6.2 percent and same store sales growth of four percent compared to Q2 last year,” said Peter Fowler, CEO of SIR Corp. “The World Cup had a positive impact on guest traffic at our restaurants in the quarter, particularly in the Greater Toronto Area.” In early April 2026, SIR Corp. opened a new Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar in Windsor and in mid-April, it closed the Jack Astor’s Bar & Grill restaurant in Richmond Hill for 36 days to complete a major renovation, which included the introduction of the Freida’s Beverage Kitchen concept at the location. Subsequent to the second quarter, in late July, SIR opened a new Scaddabush location in Aurora. SIR is pursuing additional sites to continue the growth of Scaddabush and the expansion of the Jack Astor’s + Freida’s concept. SIR also intends to continue its practice of investing in existing restaurants to drive improved sales and earnings. SIR has leased three properties, in Kanata and London in Ontario and Dartmouth in Nova Scotia, upon which it plans to develop three new Scaddabush locations. SIR has also leased a property in Windsor where it plans to develop a new Jack Astor’s + Freida’s location. SIR Corp. is a privately held corporation that owns a portfolio of 56 restaurants in Canada. SIR’s Concept brands include Jack Astor’s Bar and Grill, including Jack Astor’s + Freida’s Beverage Kitchen, with 36 locations and Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar with 16 locations. SIR also operates several one-of-a-kind Signature brands. SIR Corp is actively expanding across Ontario seeking prime end cap and standalone sites for its Scaddabush, Jack’s and Jack Astor’s + Freida’s Beverage Kitchen concepts. Units in the 5500 to 7000 square foot range are targeted and 12,000 square foot locations would be considered for dual concepts. Ali Baker and Calvin Holland at Avison Young Retail Real Estate are handling SIR Corp’s search in Ontario.
